The Marketeer is a massive enterprise taking in everything from the seedy world of the language teaching industry to rather questionable marketing in the Far East and even a sub-plot containing a goblin called Tammy and a Norse hero called Roger. There is torture by Polly Pockets, a panda kidnapping, an escaped bull and a language school being blown up in Central London. The pace is fast and the action frenetic against an exotic background stretching from Tokyo, Seoul and Taipei and ending on the slopes of Box Hill in South London.
The villains are led by a particularly nasty character known only as 'The Voice'. He employs a whole array of henchmen to capture Gabbitt and retrieve what he thinks has been stolen from him! The police are marshaled by an ineffective inspector called Pringle and there is even a geriatric ex-soldier who 'goes commando' when faced with thugs, American gangsters, Japanese businessmen and a group of Londoners out on a Fantasy Role-Play afternoon and dressed up as magicians, goblins, beastmen and orcs.
This book will not only take the lid off the language teaching industry but will give you a lot of laughs as well.
